The Birth Of The Mobile Phone — by KARRI MADELLINE January 5, 2009

Since the 1980s, the mobile phone has been transformed from an pricey item used by business people to a truly popular personal communications tool that is used by most of the population. in actual fact, these days, mobile telephone outnumber landline phones in many countries.

Mobile telephones started life whenseveral mobile radio users, known as the mobileers, popularised the use of mobile phone technology. Mobile phones were originally installed in vehicles permanently, although more sophisticated versions of them, that were called transportables, could also be carried, which meant they could be used as a mobile or as moveable two-way radio. during the forties, Motorola developed a two-way radio in a bag, the walkie-talkie, & this was widely regarded as one of the first mobiles.

The very earliest mobile telephones were called first generation telephones, also called 1g. The 1-g reign lasted from the late 1970s through to the eighties. these devices were the very first genuine mobile telephones, although they were then known as cellular mobile radiophones, and were based on analogue signals. the analogue signal was the main difference between these first generation mobile telephones and their second generation cousins, which emerged a while later.

The very earliest second generation mobile telephones were commercially launched in 1991 in finland. While 2g networks were totally digital, the earlier 1g networks were analog. one of the benefits that 2g networks had over the 1g predecessors was that conversations were digitally encrypted. This was prominent because third parties could to eavesdrop on calls on analog networks. as well as this, 2g systems were lots more efficient, which allowed far more mobile telephones to be used. Finally, 2g introduced data services for mobile, including sms text messages.

After the launch of 2g mobile phones, the previous mobile phone systems were named 1g. whereas radio signalling on 1g networks are analog, & on 2g networks they are digital, both networks use digital signaling to connect the radio towers & the rest of the telephone system.

The very earliest pre-commercial 3g mobile phone network was launched in japan in may 2001. 3-g was later released commercially in Japan on 1st october 2001.

3g is the third generation of mobile phone standards & technology, which succeeded 2g mobile phone technology. the birth of 3-g technologies enabled network operators including orange to offer their users a bigger range of high-tech services. This includes broadband internet, as well as high tech video calls.

Although 3g has been very successful, there’s also been some complaints about it. These include criticism over the cost of 3g phones, a lack of network coverage because it’s still a new service & the amount of power that 3g phones use.

After 3-g, we can get excited about the release of 4-g technology, which should be the best and most sophisticated mobile phone technology to date.

Thank you for reading our article about the invention of the mobile phone. as you’ve probably guessed by now, the mobile phone has come a long way since it was initially launched and there’s a fair chance of, it will be developed even further still.

Discover the Best Anti Aging Vitamins That Will Change Your Life January 5, 2009

Ray A. Rubio

Let’s face it. No matter who you are or where you’re from, the concern with aging worries us, even if it’s just a little. Our body’s efficiency starts declining as we grow older, because its ability to process the required nutrients and regenerate specific cells decreases over time. Our body’s defense against its own free radicals starts breaking down, and thus we become more prone to chronic, age-related illnesses. So what’s our best hope against aging? Simple. Anti aging vitamins.

You may find yourself asking, just what are anti aging vitamins? Unwittingly you might have consumed them at some part of your life, and you might even still be consuming them right now, only you haven’t been aware of just what they do for you and the benefits that they bring with regards to anti aging. Truth is, there are many vitamins that may help delay the inevitable. Aging can be prevented by the consumption of these vitamins. Let’s discover which of these vitamins can help in our ever continuous fight against aging.

If you’re someone who is concerned about aging and are somewhat knowledgeable about the subject matter, you would know that antioxidants help prevent damage caused by free radicals in the body. The most common antioxidants found in the skin happens to be vitamin C. Indeed, this particular vitamin does help in turning back the clock. A study in 2007, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, stated that people with vitamin C-rich diets had fewer signs of aging compared to those without. People who consumed more vitamin C in their diets had fewer wrinkles and dry skin related to age. This is because vitamin C smoothes fine line and wrinkles by helping in the production of collagen in the skin. Collagen production is adversely affected by free radicals in the body, because they attack fats, DNA, and protein; which is what collagen essentially is, a protein. Vitamin C has the ability to defend the body against these free radicals, and thus prevents the adverse effects on collagen production. As you probably already know, vitamin C can be found in orange and yellow fruits and vegetables. But this vitamin can also be found in animal products such as eggs and meat.

The next important vitamin comes in a group. B vitamins are eight vitamins that are essential for life. This is because these vitamins are required for body functions on the cellular level, such as digestion, the production of energy, and transmissions of nerve messages to the system. B vitamins act as enzyme co-factors, which aid enzymes in carrying out molecular conversions in the body. These vitamins help in converting carbohydrates into glucose which in turn fuels the body. So in short, B vitamins ensure the smooth operation of our body by aiding metabolism of proteins and fats, and in turn the body’s nervous system. These vitamins also help in tolerating stress, and this makes them essential anti aging vitamins as stress is the leading cause in premature aging. B vitamins can be found in foods such as milk, liver, rice, meats, and leafy green vegetables.

The last and probably the most important vitamin in the fight against aging is vitamin E. This is because amongst all the antioxidants, vitamin E is considered to be the most important, as it is provides the best form of cell membrane protection, and helps in the prevention of enzyme damage associated with the breakdown of cell membranes. Also, in recent studies, vitamin E has been shown to aid in inactivating free radicals, thus lessening their ability to cause damage to the body. This particular vitamin indeed does play a very crucial role in many of our body’s functions, as it keeps our arteries and heart healthy. Vitamin E can be found in a number of sources, but mostly in vegetable oils such as sunflower, wheat germ, and olive oil.

These are only 3 vitamins that can help prevent the signs of aging, but there are many other vitamins and supplements out there that may aid in the fight against aging. Anti aging vitamins can help change your life, so if you want to turn back the clock, consider the consumption of such vitamins.

Stogies and Slots: How to Plan a Cigar-Friendly Gambling Vacation January 5, 2009

For many of us, casino gambling and cigar smoking go together like Frank and Bing. Generations of first-time Vegas visitors have enhanced their experience via frequent applications of cigar smoke, just like those iconic Rat Packers of yesteryear with their impeccable suits, suave manner, and constantly-replenished supplies of alcohol and tobacco.

Which made it all the more surprising, for many cigar lovers, when the Nevada legislature imposed a public-smoking ban in 2006. That ban doesn’t yet apply to Las Vegas gaming floors - there is such a thing as tradition, after all. But Atlantic City recently took Nevada’s ball and ran with it: the New Jersey state legislature has instituted a smoking ban, effective October 2008, which includes the area’s famed casinos.

All of which raises the question: where can a gambling smoker still enjoy a cigar?

Well, part of the answer depends on timing. Ontario, Canada, long a major vacation destination for gamblers, also banned smoking in casinos in 2006. This decision was particularly lamented by American visitors to the area, who took advantage of the Canadian casinos’ proximity to cigar stores that sell banned-in-America Cuban cigars (though it’s technically illegal for Americans abroad to buy Cuban cigars). Ontario’s casinos acknowledged these smokers’ concerns, successfully petitioning the province’s legislature for permission to build special “smoking shelters.” So you can smoke cigars during your visit to an Ontario casino - just wait till you’re off the gaming floor and in the outdoor shelter.

Elsewhere in Canada, consider Edmonton, Alberta - or, actually, just west of it. Though public smoking is banned in Alberta, due to a 2006 ban, the Enoch Cree First Nation has voted to exempt its own casino from this ban. So visitors to the River Cree casino can light up.

Pennsylvania remains another possibility. Casinos fought successfully to be exempted from the statewide smoking ban passed by Governor Ed Rendell in June 2008. As of summer 2008, you can no longer smoke cigars in most Pennsylvania bars and restaurants, but you can smoke in casinos located outside Philadelphia. That leaves such places as Pittsburgh (with the Majestic Star casino slated to open in late 2008), Bethlehem (the Sands Bethworks Casino, also under construction), and a handful of other locations.

The Michigan legislature recently adjourned for the summer without deciding whether not to pass a statewide smoking ban. In the meantime, Wayne County recently passed a ban that exempts casinos. This means that the non-Native owned casinos of Detroit will continue to be able to compete with the state’s several large Native American-owned casinos, which will not be subject to any statewide ban.

Biloxi, Mississippi, remains a favorite for Southern gamblers who like to smoke, owing to its lack of a statewide smoking ban. Though some larger Mississippi cities have banned public smoking, Biloxi remains a smoke-positive place, rendering its nine casinos attractive destinations for a smoker-gambler.

South Dakota casino owners, meanwhile, are relishing the prospects created by a statewide smoking ban recently passed in neighboring Iowa. According to reports in local newspapers, casino owners in North Sioux City are hoping Iowa’s ban will drive smoking gamblers to the state’s many casinos - while they worry that South Dakota might pass a similar law in the near future. After all, half the population of the United States currently lives in an area (state, city or town) where public smoking is proscribed to at least some extent - and the popularity of such bans seems on the increase. Even Mississippi’s state legislature is considering one. So light ‘em while you’ve got ‘em - and no matter where you are, whenever you gamble, check before you light up. It’s not fun to be ejected from a casino!
